In 2004, VHM was awarded the contract for the production of major components of the Pzh2000, the new howitzer for the Dutch armed forces. Under contract of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), VHM is responsible for the production of the complete Pzh2000 turret. The contract for the cradle production was granted by Rheinmetall Waffen und Munition (RWM).

For the turret production, VHM successively takes care of the welding, machining, measuring and assembly. Other operations, like surface treatments, are outsourced to reliable partners in VHM’s business network.

The cradle production has similar subsequent operations. The nature of this product is however very complex.
